Which Side Of The Pizza Dough Should You Use For Toppings?

Hey guys! When it comes to stretching and topping pizza dough, the question of which side to use - the top or bottom - can be a bit confusing. Some people believe that using the top side is best, while others swear by the bottom side. So which is it?

In general, it is recommended to use the top side of the pizza dough ball when stretching and topping. This is because the top side of the dough is typically smoother and has tighter skin, which makes it easier to stretch and shape without tearing. Additionally, the top side of the dough is usually less sticky, which means it is less likely to stick to your work surface or your hands as you stretch it.

Using the bottom side of the dough helps to ensure that your pizza crust has a crisper bottom since is smoother and even. That being said, some people prefer to use the top side of the dough, as they feel that it has more stretch and is easier to shape.

If you find that the bottom side of your dough is easier to work with, feel free to use it.

You’ll end up with a nicer more even-looking bottom & it helps to reduce friction between the pizza skin and the pizza peel when launching into the oven. However, just keep in mind that it may be more prone to tearing and sticking, so you'll need to be careful when handling it.
